As a former Educator of the Year and with 40 years of experience as a teacher and principal in our schools, Joanne knows the importance of providing schools with the resources they need to succeed.
Joanne helped form the Route 202 Coalition and has led the charge to close down several problematic businesses including strip clubs and liquor stores, lower crime, and restore pride in our neighborhoods.
As a civil rights activist and community leader, Joanne marched with Martin Luther King Jr, helped integrate Prince George’s County public schools, and has never wavered in her commitment to equality. That’s why she remains dedicated to keeping the Prince George’s Hospital Center open so that all residents have access to quality healthcare.
